What we are looking for? Ideally we would like someone that can assist in covering the lunch period, the shifts are flexible (and short) over 4/5 days in the week (weekends are not essential). The average hours will be 3-4 a day (12-3/1-4 - this is flexible).
As a Retail Sales Assistant you will play a crucial part in supporting our team, managers and crafters in making the ideal shopping experience. You will be responsible for assisting customers and maintaining a pleasant and clean shop floor. We would like to find someone that is passionate about supporting small businesses.
About us: The Crafters Emporium was set up by mother and daughter starting in Didcot before expanding to 4 shops in Oxfordshire. Our Oxford store first opened in 2021 and recently moved to Cornmarket last year, where we support 90 local makers/artisans in and around Oxfordshire. The shop is now managed by two managers who assist in ensuring the shop is running efficiently at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products.
- Provide knowledgeable information about products and services to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and increase sales.
- Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising.
- Process transactions accurately using the cash register.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Keep track of inventory levels and assist in restocking shelves as needed.
Skills:
- Experience or knowledge in merchandising to create appealing product displays.
- Previous retail experience or customer service experience is preferred but not essential.
- Able to manage in a busy workplace.
Pay: You are paid in monthly intervals at the end of each month for work undertaken in the month. Pay for anyone over 20: £12.25 (during probation) increasing to £12.60 (after probation). Pay for anyone aged 18-19: £11 an hour but negotiable. Anyone aged 16-17: £10 an hour but negotiable.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract. Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour. Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week.
