The Crab & Lobster Inn is currently recruiting for a hot-side chef to join our team. Perched right above Bembridge beach, The Crab and Lobster Inn is a busy and vibrant pub, specialising in seafood and boasting a refined a la carte menu. Reporting to the head chef, the successful applicant will have a passion for working with seasonal fresh produce in an often fast-paced environment. You will also be an excellent communicator and team player with the ability to motivate and develop junior members of the kitchen team. This position would suit someone who has previously worked in a restaurant or good quality pub environment.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the Head Chef to ensure efficiency & food is prepared & presented to the highest standards, served efficiently & is consistent.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Be organised and have good communication skills.
  • Cook dishes to specification.
  • Be used to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrive working under pressure.
  • The ability to monitor stock control, ensuring stock rotation & portion control.
  • Maintain food hygiene policies and regulations.
  • A passion for high quality fresh food and a commitment to great service.
  • Food & Hygiene certificate, Level 2 or above.

This position is full-time permanent based on approx 45 hour working week.
