Job Summary

The position of the speech and language pathologist is designed to serve individual or small groups of students in need of speech, oral language and nonverbal communication instruction. The speech and language pathologist should have knowledge of the development of phonology and the articulation of speech sounds, morphology (rules governing word forms), syntax (word order in sentences), discourse (organization of connected language beyond the single sentence), semantics (meaning), and pragmatics or verbal and nonverbal communication in a social context. It is important to understand normal language development, as well as language disorders.

Schedule

Full-time (10-Month Contract) 2026-2027 School Year

3 full days a week: Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 3:45 pm, except Thursdays 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Five Week Extended School Year Program optional

Requirements

  • Minimum Education - Master’s Degree
  • Certification: Illinois State Licensed Speech/Language Pathologist
  • Illinois Type 73 School Service Personnel OR Professional Educator License
