Overview
Food and Farm Discovery Coordinator – Essex
The Country Trust is seeking a Food and Farm Discovery Coordinator to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences for primary school children across Essex and nearby areas. You’ll run cooking and gardening sessions in schools, organise and lead farm visits, and build lasting relationships with teachers, farmers, and food producers.
This flexible, home-based role typically involves 1.5–2.5 days per week during term time, with paid training, meetings, and development days. A full driving licence, access to a car, and basic IT equipment are essential.

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences for primary school children across Essex and nearby areas.
- Run cooking and gardening sessions in schools, organise and lead farm visits, and build lasting relationships with teachers, farmers, and food producers.
- Manage groups outdoors with confidence; work independently as part of a supportive national team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children.
- Love of cooking and gardening.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence managing groups outdoors.
- Strong organisation and the ability to work independently.
- Full driving licence and access to a car; basic IT equipment.

- Daily rate: £158.90 for Farm Discovery / £167.30 for Food Discovery, plus expenses
