About The Costello School

The Costello School is a very popular, regularly oversubscribed and growing school. Ofsted took a Good school with Outstanding features (Nov 2021). We are looking to appoint highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individuals with a desire to improve the life chances of young people through excellent care, teaching and guidance.

We are seeking a colleague who has a passion for performance and Humanities. You will join a close knit team of colleagues.

Professional Development and Opportunities

We invest heavily in CPD and training and have fantastic links with other schools and professional organisations. New ideas and approaches are welcomed with open arms and coaching is used to unlock potential. We work very closely with our \’family\’ of partner schools and are currently the strategic lead for a unique teaching and learning project.

As part of the Bohunt Education Trust, there are plenty of opportunities for support, development and progression.

What We Value in You

  • Inspire and innovate
  • Nurture and develop yourself and others
  • Commit to and raise further high achievement and motivation
  • Optimise Humanities learning for all

Why You Should Join Us

  • Our greatest strength is our people and we work hard to make sure you know that. Colleague wellbeing is very important to us and will always remain a high priority
  • Our team is our greatest asset. Colleagues at Costello are supportive, respectful and protective of one another. We are a team that puts children first and enables one another to provide the best experiences and opportunities for those within our community
  • We strive to ensure that our learning environments are safe, supportive and enable learners the ability to learn in a high quality learning environment, with high quality colleagues
  • Planning your lessons is crucial and it’s always easier when we collaborate – we’ve put in place hours of co‑planning so that you can share best practice and resources and not have to sit at home doing it on your own
  • Our Ofsted inspection judged us as Good with Outstanding features, and said that “Leaders, teachers and support staff work together as a tight‑knit team to meet these pupils’ pastoral and academic needs very well. Good relationships between staff and pupils ensure typically calm, respectful behaviour across the school. Pupils enjoy school and feel happy and proud to be here.”
  • Being part of The Bohunt Education Trust means you get dedicated time with like‑minded colleagues from other schools, specialist training opportunities, and career progression opportunities which open doors every year.
