Job Summary

As the business evolves into a multi-entity group, we are looking to appoint a Group Management Accountant who will play a key role in managing the day-to-day finance function, producing group management accounts, and helping to build robust financial processes and reporting across the group. This role will work closely with the Head of Finance and CEO and will manage the day-to-day finance operations and team. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a growing SME environment where processes and systems are evolving and who is comfortable being hands-on while also managing a small team.

The Role

The Group Management Accountant will be responsible for producing management accounts across multiple entities, managing the finance team, and supporting the development of group reporting and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities within the group
  • Production of consolidated group management accounts and reporting packs
  • Cashflow forecasting and financial reporting across the group
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Managing and mentoring a small finance team (including accounts and finance administration staff)
  • Reviewing transactional finance work including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and reconciliations
  • Supporting the implementation of new finance systems and process improvements
  • Assisting with year-end processes and working with external accountants
  • Supporting new entity set ups and group reporting requirements as the business continues to grow
  • Improving finance processes, controls, and reporting across the group
  • Providing financial insight and support to senior management

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with proven multi-entity management accounting experience
  • Experience producing management accounts within a multi-entity or group structure
  • Experience managing or supervising finance staff
  • Experience working within SMEs or growing / evolving businesses
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
  • Experience using Xero and Fathom
  • Comfortable improving processes and working in changing environments
  • Organised, calm, proactive, and able to manage multiple entities and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
