Penderlaw are currently seeking a full time Legal Assistant / Receptionist with immediate start. We are a well-established, professional and friendly law firm based in the centre of Truro. The candidate will have experience in customer service and an interest in law. Experience in a role handling confidential and sensitive information would also be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be organised, professional, and capable of handling a variety of tasks related to both client-facing interactions and back-office administration. Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, there is a level of flexibility on offer for the right individual. Salary is negotiable and based on experience.

The Role

  1. Call handling, assisting clients, diverting calls and taking comprehensive messages for Fee Earners
  2. First point of contact for visitors
  3. Delivery of an effective and client focused service both over the phone and face to face
  4. Complying with the firm’s procedures and manuals, in-house training given
  5. Daily checking and distribution of incoming post and preparation and posting of outgoing post
  6. Stock check and replenishing of office supplies
  7. General administration such as filing, scanning, file opening and closing

About You

  1. A positive, can do attitude
  2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  3. A high level of numeracy and computer literacy
  4. Discretion and understanding of confidentiality in a legal setting
  5. Excellent attention to detail, file management and organisational skills
  6. Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within a legal environment and in handling confidential and sensitive information
  7. Adopting the firm’s ethos in maintaining a professional and friendly approach, with the utmost commitment to client care
  8. Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
  9. Able to work using own initiative as well as working well as part of a team

From £22,000.00 per year
