Roseland Kennel & Cattery are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Animal Care and Welfare Assistant to join their family-run business. As an apprentice, you will earn whilst you learn within the animal care industry. You will learn valuable skills and experiences which are involved in supporting the care and wellbeing of cats and dogs.
Training course Animal care and welfare assistant (level 2)
Hours 5 days, working between Sunday to Monday, split shifts 7.30am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you\’ll do at work
Duties will include but are not restricted to:
- Dog walking and offering exercise opportunities
- Preparing and providing feed and water
- Handling and care of animals
- Promote and maintain health and well-being
- Supporting an animal\’s basic medications (under supervision)
- Prepare, clean and disinfect accommodation
- Encouraging effective working relationships
- Welcome, receive and speak with visitors
- Carry out basic reception duties
- Represent the company professionally

You will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.
You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.
You will be required to attend Cornwall College Duchy Rosewarne on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

Roseland Kennels and Cattery is a family run, purpose built, modern boarding kennels and cattery set on the edge of the beautiful Roseland Peninsular. The up to date boarding facilities provide the guests with a relaxing holiday or short stay away from home. The first block of sixteen kennels adjoin the reception area and usually house the smaller or older dogs. The second block comprises of twenty modern kennels built from recycled plastics, making Roseland Kennels one of the greenest around.With the support of a fantastic team, Roseland are proud to hold a three-star operator’s licence awarded by Cornwall Council.
