We have 3 schools in and around Bournemouth & Poole, including Avonbourne Boys’ & Girls’ Academies, Glenmoor & Winton Academies, and The Cornerstone Academy. However, if you’re leaving Bournemouth & Poole after graduating, we still have 100 schools nationwide, so you can train to teach in a location that suits you. And if you want even more experience, there is also an option to join your school before September and work as a Teaching Assistant.
Please note that some of our salaried courses are run through the government’s apprenticeship scheme. This will not differ from our regular salaried route in terms of course content; it simply enables our schools to access funding for your training.
Your trainee year will start with a 10‑day summer institute (29 June - 8 July 2026) based at one of our regional training centres, with some remote delivery too. You’ll attend interactive sessions led by teaching experts to help you feel prepared for entering the classroom in September. It’s also a great opportunity to meet your fellow trainees for the first time!
