This is a rare opportunity to join a global manufacturing business at an exciting stage of its growth journey, taking ownership of a critical function that will play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation.

As part of the senior leadership team for the Renewable Energy & Infrastructure division, you'll lead the purchasing and supply chain strategy across the business unit, driving operational excellence, supplier performance and commercial value. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for developing a resilient, high-performing supply chain that supports continued growth, international operations and an expanding customer base.

This is a broad leadership position with responsibility for purchasing, supplier management, inventory and supply chain operations. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally to ensure the supply chain is fit for purpose, commercially competitive and aligned with the wider business strategy.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Purchasing & Supply will include:

  • Developing and delivering the purchasing and supply chain strategy to support business growth
  • Leading supplier sourcing, negotiations and performance management across a global supplier base
  • Driving cost reduction, value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Optimising inventory, forecasting and supply planning to improve service levels and working capital
  • Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks while ensuring business continuity
  • Leading and developing a high-performing purchasing and supply chain team
  • Establishing robust KPIs and governance to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Finance and international teams to deliver strategic objectives
  • Championing Lean principles, operational excellence and supply chain best practice
  • Supporting business transformation projects and future growth initiatives

We're looking for an experienced purchasing and supply chain leader with a proven track record within a manufacturing or engineering environment. You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience leading purchasing and supply chain functions within manufacturing
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Experience developing supply chain strategy and delivering measurable business improvements
  • A track record of driving cost reduction, operational efficiency and supplier performance
  • Strong leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing teams
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across international operations
  • Experience of managing inventory, planning and supply chain risk within a complex manufacturing environment
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement
