- The Cooper School is seeking a compassionate, skilled and committed
School Counsellor . This is a part-time role of 25 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days.
Responsibilities
- Provide a professional, confidential and student-centred counselling service to support students experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges, helping them to develop resilience, improve wellbeing and achieve their full potential.
- Manage a caseload of students, provide therapeutic interventions, contribute to safeguarding processes and play an active role in promoting positive mental health across the school community.
Qualifications and requirements
- Qualified counsellor with experience of working with children and young people.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional accreditation with BACP, UKCP or an equivalent body is essential, together with a commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.
