The Conversation Stamford is an external provider of Personal, Social, and Health education for schools and colleges. The organization delivers interactive workshops that encourage open conversations about healthy relationships, mental health and wellbeing, self‑esteem, identity, and social media. This programme is focused on supporting children in primary schools and encouraging them to have a healthier relationship with digital technology.
The Cyberwise Teaching Assistant is a temporary position supporting a lead member of staff in teaching our Cyberwise workshops in various schools. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- Assisting lead educators during sessions
- Helping set up and pack down teaching materials and digital resources
- Providing classroom support to maintain a safe, engaging learning environment
- Working directly with children and young people, encouraging participation, answering questions, and supporting discussions and activities on the topic
This role is 20 days – September to February – Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays as dictated by bookings. Pay is £12.71 per hour.
Requirements:
- Experience as a classroom teacher or in assistant teaching or classroom support
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to engage with children, young people, and school staff
- An enthusiasm for and understanding of PSHE topics such as wellbeing, relationships, and online safety
- Experience working with children or young people in educational, community, or support settings, with a commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage time and resources during workshops
- Relevant certifications (e.g., safeguarding training) or the willingness to obtain, and the ability to pass necessary background checks
