Why we are hiring

Our company has scaled significantly over the past few years. We have built a strong, talented team that’s structured to scale to support further growth and we are now ready to seize the opportunity to expand our client base. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to help shape and deliver our new business proposition and take this to market. This is a key hire at an exciting stage of growth for the agency, as we look to build new long-term partnerships with large and enterprise-level brands.

The role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth across The Content Emporium. This role will focus on identifying, engaging and converting high-value opportunities with large and enterprise-level organisations. You will work closely with the CEO, COO and wider marketing team to refine our new business proposition, identify target clients, and proactively develop relationships with senior decision-makers. You will also collaborate with our copywriting and design teams to ensure proposals and outreach materials reflect the quality and ambition of our work. This is a proactive, outward-facing role suited to someone confident engaging with senior stakeholders, highly organised, and comfortable representing the agency in both formal and informal settings. We’re looking for a self-starter to come in and shape this function within the company.

Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):

  • New business strategy & proposition development
  • Work with the CEO and COO to refine and articulate The Content Emporium's new business proposition.

  • Ensure our positioning clearly communicates our value to large and enterprise-level organisations.
  • Lead generation & proactive outreach
  • Proactively identify and research potential new clients that align with our ideal client profile.
  • Initiate contact with senior decision-makers through a combination of email outreach, networking, events, LinkedIn and other appropriate channels.
  • Set up and attend meetings with prospective clients, confidently presenting our services and capabilities.
  • Maintain a structured and organised pipeline of opportunities.
  • Relationship building & networking
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within target organisations.
  • Represent The Content Emporium at industry events, networking opportunities and relevant business forums.
  • Develop long-term relationships that lead to sustained partnerships rather than one-off projects.
  • Ensure all communication, written and verbal, reflects the professionalism and quality of our brand.
  • Collaboration & internal alignment
  • Work closely with the CEO, COO and Senior Leadership Team to align new business efforts with agency capacity and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across outreach and brand channels.
  • Engage copywriters and designers where needed to develop tailored proposals and pitch materials.
  • Keep internal stakeholders informed of pipeline progress, risks and wins.
  • Pipeline management & reporting
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of outreach activity, meetings and opportunities.
  • Track progress against revenue targets and OTE expectations.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on performance and forecasted revenue.
  • Continuously review and improve processes to increase efficiency and conversion rates.

What success looks like in this role

  • A strong, well-managed pipeline of high-quality enterprise-level prospects and processes in place to convert them.
  • Consistent generation of new meetings and opportunities aligned with our strategic goals.
  • New client wins that contribute meaningfully to agency growth and align with our strategy.
  • Professional, confident representation of The Content Emporium in all external interactions.

Benefits

This is a permanent full time role with a salary of £35,000 per annum and up to £40,000 OTE based on performance.
