The Consumer Council is recruiting for a Head of Energy Transition to join our Consumer Engagement Directorate, as a member of our Wider Leadership Team. We are looking for an experienced and collaborative leader with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary research teams, build trusted stakeholder relationships, lead deliberative research with diverse audiences, and communicate evidence-based insights to influence strategic decision-making while proactively supporting the Consumer Council's vision.

Eligibility criteria

You will need proven experience of:

  • Horizon scanning and analysing evidence, case studies and trends to identify emerging issues and opportunities to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Managing an externally-facing research function, including designing qualitative outputs and communicating findings effectively to senior management and diverse audiences.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and trusted stakeholder relationships to deliver positive outcomes for consumers, service users and/or businesses.
  • Developing and delivering multiple projects within agreed timescales and budgets while managing people and reporting to senior management.
Salary & Benefits:

Salary: £47,304 - £49,515. At the Consumer Council, you will receive an excellent pension scheme with 34.25% employer contribution, 25 days annual leave and 12 statutory holidays and excellent opportunities for professional development. The Consumer Council currently operates a hybrid working model.
