Connectus Utilities | Hybrid | 2-3 days in Rochford office
If you’re used to keeping projects moving when there are lots of moving parts, keep reading. Part of Consultus, an award-winning international energy and sustainability consultancy, Connectus Utilities is where strategy becomes delivery. We work with commercial developers, housebuilders and construction partners to manage utility connections across their sites, helping projects progress without unnecessary delays or cost.
As that work continues to grow, we’re now looking for a Utilities Coordinator to join the team.
The role
You’ll be in the middle of live projects, coordinating utility works across electricity, gas, water, telecoms and sewerage. A lot of the role is about keeping things moving and keeping people aligned. You’ll be speaking regularly with network operators, contractors and clients, making sure work is progressing, timelines are realistic and nothing gets missed. Some days will be straightforward. Others won’t. That’s where you come in.
Does this sound like you?
- Do you enjoy being the person who keeps things moving when there are lots of moving parts?
- Are you comfortable managing multiple projects without losing track of the detail?
- Do you tend to pick things up and run with them rather than waiting to be asked?
- Are you confident speaking to external partners and following things through when you need answers?
- Do you spot when something doesn’t quite add up and deal with it early?
- Do you prefer variety and pace over doing the same task repeatedly?
What you’ll be getting involved in
- Coordinating utility connections, upgrades, diversions and disconnections
- Managing multiple sites, services and timelines at once
- Liaising with DNOs, iDNOs, ICPs, UIPs and contractors
- Handling surveys, quotations and scheduling works
- Tracking progress against milestones and flagging risks
- Keeping clients updated in a clear, straightforward way
- Maintaining project records, approvals and documentation
What you’ll need
- Experience within utilities, energy, construction, infrastructure or a similar project environment
- A working understanding of how utility connections are delivered
- Confidence dealing with external providers or network operators
- Strong organisation and the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Clear and professional communication
It would be useful if you’ve also worked with:
- Residential or commercial developments
- Metering, energy contracts or tenancy changes
- Approvals such as Section 106 or G99
- Clients directly, in a consultancy or service environment
This could suit someone already working in utility coordination, or someone from a broader utilities or energy background looking to move into a more project-focused role.
Why this role
You’ll gain exposure across multiple utility services, complex live projects and a wide range of stakeholders, building experience that’s difficult to get in more siloed roles. You’ll be part of a supportive but autonomous team that’s growing, with real scope to develop as the role and wider business continue to evolve.
Apply
If you’re already working in or around utility coordination and this feels like a natural step, apply now or get in touch for a chat.
