Are you passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability? Do you want to make a tangible difference for businesses while working across diverse sites, from bustling hotels to industrial plants? At Consultus International, we don’t just advise on carbon reduction – we make it happen. Founded in 1994, we are an award‑winning energy consultancy helping businesses plan, prioritise, and achieve their carbon neutral goals. Together with our Ennovus Solutions team, we offer a full spectrum of services, from audits and design through to renewables and energy efficiency implementation. We aim to leave the planet and its people in a better state than when we started.
We’re looking for a Site Energy & Carbon Auditor to join our growing team. This hands‑on, highly varied role combines on‑site audits with report writing and client engagement. You’ll travel across the UK, work independently, and contribute directly to the energy reduction strategies of our clients.
What you’ll do
- Conduct energy audits across offices, hotels, industrial, and manufacturing sites.
- Analyse building systems, processes, and energy consumption to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Produce clear, professional audit reports and recommendations.
- Support compliance projects including ESOS and Net Zero Pathway audits.
- Use Excel and in-house software to analyse data, calculate savings, and present results.
- Alongside site audits, work with client energy data in Excel to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Liaise confidently with clients and site teams to gather data and explain findings.
- Work independently, managing your own schedule and travel, including occasional overnight stays.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll likely come from a hands‑on technical background, with experience working on site systems such as boilers, HVAC, motors, lighting or compressed air. You may have carried out energy audits already, or be working in maintenance or engineering and looking to move into a more energy‑focused role. You’re comfortable getting into the detail, whether that’s understanding how systems operate on site or analysing information to spot opportunities for improvement. You take pride in producing clear, structured work and communicating your findings in a way that others can act on. You’re someone who can work independently, manage your own time, and feel confident on client sites, but you also value being part of a collaborative team. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK are essential for this role, with occasional travel into Europe as required.
What success looks like
- You’re delivering high‑quality audits efficiently, with accurate calculations and clear, well‑structured reports that clients can easily understand and act on.
- Your recommendations are practical and credible, and you can see clients taking action as a result of your work.
- You’re managing your time and travel effectively, staying organised even when schedules are busy or plans change.
- Over time, you’re building confidence and independence, taking ownership of more complex audits and becoming a trusted voice for both clients and colleagues.
Why you’ll love this role
This is a highly varied role where no two days look the same. You’ll balance time on client sites with report writing and direct engagement, giving you real ownership of your work from start to finish. You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking, award‑winning consultancy, with the opportunity to grow your skills and develop your career as the team continues to expand. The work itself is diverse, exposing you to different types of sites and the latest energy efficiency approaches, so you’ll be constantly learning. You’ll benefit from a flexible, remote working setup, with travel that keeps the role dynamic and engaging rather than desk‑bound. As part of a growing audit and energy team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from others, take on new challenges, and progress over time.
Salary & Benefits
Up to £40,000 depending on experience | Flexible working environment and access to a collaborative, purpose‑driven culture. At Consultus, we value curiosity, independence, integrity, and a commitment to making a difference. If you’re technically capable, enthusiastic about energy efficiency, and want to see the real‑world impact of your work, we want to hear from you.
