Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform that enables businesses to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate new opportunities. The Solutions Architecture Team partners with users to realise their full potential, influencing revenue growth across Stripe’s product portfolio and collaborating with sales, support, product management, and executives to deliver the best customer experience.
As a Solutions Architect, you will build highly consultative relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers, providing business and technical thought leadership and serving as a trusted advisor to solve mission-critical challenges. You will architect business models that drive new monetisation opportunities and growth for both the user and Stripe.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Platform account team, deeply involved in defining the customer strategy, identifying and closing new complex opportunities, and accelerating solution adoption.
- Understand and align with the customer’s product and business roadmap to uncover opportunities for Stripe to accelerate their progress.
- Provide thought leadership and trusted advisory to key stakeholders such as CIO, CTO, COO, CRO, CDO, Head of Product Engineering, and Head of Payments.
- Design and apply Stripe’s solutions to customers’ business objectives.
- Conduct business analysis and background research on customers, industries, and competitors to support growth.
- Expand Stripe’s footprint within existing accounts to new global markets and business units by introducing new capabilities and local payment methods.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time to engage with customers in person.
Who you are
You are an experienced enterprise architect, senior solution architect, or principal solution engineer with a track record advising enterprise-grade digital-native SaaS, platform, or marketplace companies. You possess deep technical acumen, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to become a trusted advisor to senior executives, fostering customer success throughout the journey. You are a strategic, creative thinker who proactively identifies challenges, takes ownership, and maintains a positive approach when facing obstacles.
Minimum requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role (solution consultant, solutions architect, sales engineer) for a global software enterprise.
- Experience in the payments, billing, invoicing, issuing, banking, or fintech space.
- Executive engagement skills and presence, with the ability to establish strong relationships with key decision makers.
- Effective group facilitation skills and confidence in leading customer meetings to gain strategic footing.
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architectures.
- Background in writing code in Stripe’s primary deployment languages (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, etc.) is a plus.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills in English.
