The Consultancy Group are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Procurement Director to oversee and manage end‑to‑end procurement operations. This position is focused on continuing transformation and management of the function, and requires someone confident in procurement operations, vendor management, the global Procure‑to‑Pay (PtP) process, including management of multinational in‑house AP shared services centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Operations
    • Lead the daily procurement function and operations.
    • Act as the key contact across the business for procurement-related support and guidance.
    • Maintain workflows related to purchasing, onboarding, renewals, and supplier lifecycle management.
  • Vendor & Contract Management
    • Oversee an extensive vendor landscape, continuing to support a function that manages 1,000+ suppliers.
    • Handle end-to-end vendor management and lead commercial negotiations with vendors and service providers.
    • Manage all contracts valued at £50,000+, ensuring compliance, risk management, and proper approvals.
  • Financial & PtP Oversight
    • Support and maintain the global PtP operating model.
    • Oversee procurement elements related to: Licensing and SaaS subscription management, PO creation and approvals, invoice and payment workflows, data accuracy and reporting.
    • Partner with Finance and AP to ensure seamless execution of processes across the shared services centre.
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage and support a team, including accounts payable personnel.
    • Ensure the team continues to uphold high process and compliance standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Senior Procurement Lead, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on negotiation experience across multiple categories.
  • Experienced in vendor management at scale, ideally managing diverse and complex supplier portfolios.
  • Operationally strong, with experience running established procurement processes.
  • Leadership experience supporting small operational teams.
  • Familiarity with global Procure‑to‑Pay processes and/or shared services environments.
  • Fintech or Payments experience strongly preferred.
