A globally-focused investment group is seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to support its private equity and venture capital funds, with a focus on Asia (ASEAN) and early-stage technology/start-up investments. This is a unique opportunity to partner with innovative businesses from inception, providing day-to-day tax advice and shaping operating models for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end tax support (compliance and advisory) for investments in high-growth start-ups and technology businesses across Asia.
- Act as the "in-house" tax advisor for businesses without dedicated tax teams, supporting founders and commercial teams on structuring, planning, and strategic issues.
- Engage closely with local advisors and portfolio management to anticipate long-term tax challenges and opportunities.
- Support ongoing investments in regions such as the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and others.
- Contribute to the development of tax operating models and processes for new, early-stage investments.
About You
- Experience with international tax for VC, PE, or start-up environments.
- Knowledge of Asian markets, tax regimes is essential.
- Fluency in an Asian language (Mandarin, Malay, etc.) is highly advantageous.
- Advisory background (Big 4 or top-tier firm preferred) and In-house experience, with proven ability to operate in fast-moving, technology-driven contexts is essential.
- CTA, ACA/ICAS, or legal qualification preferred.
- Hands-on, technology-oriented, and enjoys ambiguity and early-stage environments.
- Comfortable with early morning working hours to coordinate with Asian stakeholders.
- Must have both tax advisory and tax compliance & reporting experience.
