Principal Fire Surveyor job with an award-winning fire consultancy, working from their office in London on a hybrid basis. The role will involve managing and delivering large and complex fire safety projects at all RIBA stages. Offering a salary of £70,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + 45p mileage + hybrid working + private healthcare + 27 days holiday + continuous CPD and career development. This role can be based from offices in London, Kent, Manchester or Glasgow. They offer strategic advice, innovative design, construction oversight and risk management services to wide-ranging clients in the UK and worldwide.
Role & Responsibilities
- Project manage complex or large-scale fire safety projects from RIBA Stage 1 to completion
- Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Surveyors and Consultants across the team
- Provide technical consultancy and design input, aligned to the latest codes, standards and regulations
- Oversee project budgets, invoicing, scheduling and performance monitoring
- Take a key role in client and stakeholder engagement, supporting the delivery of project KPIs
- Support business development and help secure repeat and new work through strong relationships
- Identify and share CPD and upskilling opportunities within the team
- Report directly to the Project Director and collaborate with senior colleagues company-wide
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in fire or building consultancy
- Must be MRICS, MCABE, MIFIREE, MCIOB or working towards
- Enhanced understanding of fire safety design and guidance for different buildings
- A good knowledge of regulatory process is essential
- Ability to mentor/manage more junior members of staff
- Understanding of building pathology, building concepts, construction typology and building materials
- Experience with cladding & Facades / EWS1
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
