Overview

We are looking for a MRP Controller to join our team at our Head office in York. Once you are fully trained you can work from home 2 days per week. You will ensure externally sourced materials are available on a just in time system to deliver production plan, with minimal held inventory. We are looking for a candidate with the mindset and experience delivering efficiency improvement and optimisation and the ability to develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally, to deliver the best for Portakabin.

Role Details

  • Annual salary between Β£32,000 – Β£38,000 dependent on skills and experience
  • Annual Bonus of up to 5%
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year
  • Role based: New Lane, Huntington, York – You must be located within 1 hour of York

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm deliveries and provide forecasts based on sales and operations planning reports
  • Ensure materials are available on time to meet production and customer requirements
  • Resolve material notifications related to material quality issues
  • Introduce new and superseded materials effectively to avoid shortages and reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock
  • Recommend and coordinate actions to reduce inventory waste through a focus on stock turnover
  • Drive implementation of policies and process improvements, including software and ERP enhancements, to ensure systems are fit for purpose
  • Implement stock count policy in York factory
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and flag repeated issues to Procurement and Materials Planning Manager

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to A-level, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in driving implementation of policies and process improvements across the business function and projects
  • Experience in an entry-level role in supply chain planning
  • Basic understanding of supply chain, manufacturing or logistics principles
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability with attention to detail
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Skills: Material Requirements Planning, Inventory Management, Supplier Coordination, Data Analysis, Cost Management, Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, Reporting and Documentation, Safety Standards
