Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a technically engaging role that offers long-term stability, involvement in complex engineering projects, and the opportunity to work within a highly experienced design team? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering business with decades of experience delivering high-quality engineered solutions across demanding industries.
You\’ll be working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, taking ownership of mechanical design activities from concept through to detailed design and manufacture. The role offers a strong balance of hands-on design work and collaborative project involvement, working closely with fellow design engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Creating mechanical design concepts, layouts, and engineered solutions
- Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings to ISO and/or ASME standards
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs) and technical documentation
- Performing engineering calculations to verify and validate designs
- Participating in internal and customer-facing design reviews
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to support cost-effective and efficient production
- Supporting projects through the full design lifecycle from concept to delivery
- Working in line with company procedures, quality systems, and engineering standards
Requirements / Qualifications
- A Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar)
- Experience with Siemens NX
- A solid understanding of mechanical engineering design principles and analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, or additive manufacturing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
