We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi‑Trade Carpenter to join a busy reactive maintenance team working within the social housing sector. This is an excellent temp‑to‑permanent opportunity offering long‑term, stable work.
Location: Covering Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney, Redbridge & Havering. Office base: Loughton.
Pay Rate: £23‑£24 per hour (CIS or Umbrella PAYE).
Role: The successful candidate will be carrying out reactive maintenance and day‑to‑day repairs within occupied social housing properties across East London and surrounding areas.
Duties:
- Carpentry repairs and maintenance
- Basic multi‑trade works including plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, painting & decorating
- Reactive maintenance and fault‑finding
- Working in occupied properties
- Delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service
Requirements:
- NVQ in Carpentry or relevant trade qualification
- Previous experience within social housing/reactive maintenance
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Good communication and customer service skills
