An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join a well-established, employee-focused transport planning and civil engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality development planning advice across the UK.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, the team is looking to appoint an experienced transport planner who can take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting the continued expansion of the business. You’ll have the flexibility to be based in either the Woking or London office, working closely with an experienced and collaborative team on a broad range of residential, commercial, retail, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments.

The Role

You’ll lead and manage development planning projects from initial feasibility through to planning application and delivery, providing commercially focused transport advice to developers, landowners and multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and supporting technical reports.
  • Managing projects through the planning process while ensuring quality, programme and budget targets are achieved.
  • Undertaking junction modelling and transport analysis using software such as TRICS, TEMPro, ARCADY, PICADY and LinSig.
  • Providing transport advice to clients, architects, planners and local authorities throughout project delivery.
  • Attending client meetings, design team meetings and stakeholder consultations.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior transport planners.
  • Assisting with fee proposals, project planning and wider business development activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Consultancy experience delivering development planning projects within the UK.
  • Strong experience preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements for planning applications.
  • Excellent report writing, communication and client management skills.
  • Experience using TRICS, TEMPro, ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig or similar transport planning software.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Chartered status or progress towards a relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to work from the office at least three days per week while collaborating closely with the wider team.
