My client is a highly regarded and rapidly growing construction consultancy that has doubled in size over the last few years and continues to expand across the UK infrastructure market. This is an exciting time to join the business, offering the chance to play a senior role within a consultancy that values collaboration, progression and long‑term careers.
The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of projects from early stages through to final account. You will work closely with clients, project teams and stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor while supporting the development of more junior team members. The role is based in Suffolk, with a requirement to be on site 2‑3 days per week. Candidates based locally are preferred, however accommodation can be provided for those travelling further afield.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial and contractual management of projects under NEC contracts
- Provide strategic commercial advice to clients and project teams
- Manage cost reporting, change control, compensation events and final accounts
- Support client meetings and maintain strong, professional relationships
- Mentor and support Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
Key Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential, including a clear understanding of the principles and how they operate in practice
- Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level or as a commercial lead
- Background in infrastructure, energy, aviation or similar complex sectors is desirable but not essential
- Excellent client‑facing and communication skills
- Experience gained either consultancy‑side or from a contractor background
