A specialist glazing and fenestration contractor is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join its growing design team based in Harlow. Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects throughout London and the South East, you will play a key role in producing technical drawings and supporting the delivery of bespoke glazing, curtain walling, window, door and internal glass systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and expanding business where you will gain exposure to all stages of project delivery, from design and technical coordination through to fabrication and installation.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings for aluminium and steel window, door and curtain walling systems.
- Prepare technical drawings for internal glazing, partitions, doors and fire-rated screens.
- Carry out measured site surveys and incorporate findings into design packages.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants and internal teams to develop and finalise designs.
- Prepare drawing packages for client approval, fabrication and installation.
- Assist with technical submittals, glass schedules and material take-offs.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Attend site meetings and project visits across London and the South East as required.
- Maintain drawing registers and project documentation.
- Support the continuous improvement of design processes and technical standards.
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience within the glazing, fenestration, curtain walling or façade industry.
- Strong AutoCAD skills.
- Experience producing technical drawings for aluminium and steel glazing systems.
- Good understanding of glazing installation methods and construction detailing.
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Experience carrying out measured site surveys.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience using Revit.
- Experience using LogiKal software.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of fire-rated glazing systems.
