Project Director – Specialist Façade & Building Envelope Contractor

Location: Essex or London – East (Ongar, Essex)

Salary: £100,000 – £130,000 per annum

The role is offered by a respected specialist façade contractor with almost 50 years of experience delivering complex façade and building envelope solutions. The incumbent will drive high‑value projects across London's commercial and mixed‑use developments, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of multiple complex façade and building envelope projects.
  • Develop project strategies that maximise programme certainty, profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, support and mentoring to Project Managers and wider delivery teams.
  • Work collaboratively with Pre‑Construction, Design and Commercial teams to ensure seamless project transitions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects and main contractors.
  • Drive commercial awareness and operational excellence across every project.
  • Oversee project governance, reporting, risk management and resource planning.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality and compliance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Significant experience operating at Project Director or Senior Project Manager level.
  • Strong knowledge of façade, curtain walling, cladding or specialist building envelope packages.
  • Experience delivering high‑value commercial, residential or mixed‑use developments.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
  • Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • The credibility to build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams alike.
