You'll be working in a collaborative environment alongside planners, environmental specialists and other design professionals.

The Role

  • You'll take the lead on drainage and infrastructure design, managing projects from concept through to approval.
  • This includes producing Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and detailed design packages, while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
  • You will also be client‑facing, liaising with local authorities, water companies and wider project teams, so strong communication skills are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of drainage and infrastructure schemes
  • Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
  • Deliver S104/S38/S278 approvals
  • Coordinate with clients, authorities and internal teams
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Contribute to programme management and technical quality

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • Strong UK consultancy experience, particularly in drainage and infrastructure
  • Confident using AutoCAD and drainage software (e.g. InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage)
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Working towards Chartership or already achieved

  • Clear progression pathway with support towards Chartership
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • Exposure to a diverse and interesting project portfolio
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment
  • Competitive benefits package including pension and holiday allowance

What stands out here is the level of responsibility you'll be given, alongside clear progression opportunities as the team continues to grow. It's a role suited to someone who wants to step up, take ownership, and have a real impact on project delivery. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to get in touch for a confidential conversation.
