My client, an established engineering consultancy, seeks a senior geotechnical / geoenvironmental engineer to join them in North London.
The role involves both site‑based and office‑based work, requiring a combination of technical expertise and leadership.
- Conduct site investigations and contaminated land assessments.
- Supervise junior engineers and provide line management.
- Develop specifications, operate, and interpret geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations.
- Collaborate with other consultant firms on multidisciplinary projects.
- Travel within South East London and surrounding areas as required.
- Candidate Profile
Qualifications and experience required
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Civil Engineering; MSc preferred.
- Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong background in geotechnical site investigation and contaminated land assessments.
- In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation recommendations, and groundwater/ground‑gas risk assessments.
- Experience with trial pits, boreholes, and field techniques.
- Previous supervisory or line‑management experience preferred.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites.
