My client, an established engineering consultancy, seeks a senior geotechnical / geoenvironmental engineer to join them in North London.

The role involves both site‑based and office‑based work, requiring a combination of technical expertise and leadership.

  • Conduct site investigations and contaminated land assessments.
  • Supervise junior engineers and provide line management.
  • Develop specifications, operate, and interpret geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations.
  • Collaborate with other consultant firms on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Travel within South East London and surrounding areas as required.
  • Candidate Profile

Qualifications and experience required

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Civil Engineering; MSc preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong background in geotechnical site investigation and contaminated land assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation recommendations, and groundwater/ground‑gas risk assessments.
  • Experience with trial pits, boreholes, and field techniques.
  • Previous supervisory or line‑management experience preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites.
