A technically focused role for a confident designer who can lead education projects independently, combining strong design ability with Revit, BIM, and compliance‑led delivery. This design‑led consultancy specialises in technically robust interior, FF&E and workflow planning solutions for education and commercial projects across the UK. The practice is recognised for its deep understanding of DfE requirements, BIM‑led delivery, and its ability to translate design intent into compliant, buildable and well‑coordinated solutions. Operating as part of wider consultant teams, the studio places strong emphasis on technical accuracy, accountability, and independent project leadership.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of interior and FF&E packages for education‑led projects
- Take full responsibility for assigned projects, managing design outputs from concept through to tender and delivery
- Produce compliant layouts aligned with the DfE Output Specification and relevant Building Bulletins
- Design classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, staff areas, and learning environments with a strong focus on workflow planning
- Develop detailed room layouts, elevations, schedules, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing meetings, queries and design coordination
- Work independently as project lead, coordinating inputs from architects, M&E engineers and specialist consultants
- Deliver BIM outputs, ensuring models, drawings and data are fully coordinated
- Create, manage and issue COBie‑compliant data
- Support procurement stages with accurate, contractor‑ready schedules and specifications
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings and occasional site visits
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a technically focused Interior Designer within education or commercial sectors
- Essential experience working across RIBA Stages 2–5
- Working knowledge of the DfE Output Specification and education workflow planning
- High proficiency in Revit, with strong understanding of BIM processes and coordinated model delivery
- Experience producing and managing COBie data
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects and design decisions
- Confident client‑facing skills, with experience leading meetings and managing relationships
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, compliance‑led approach to design
