The predicted salary is between 33000 - 35000 £ per year.

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000k + additional £0.27 - £4.73 merit rate per hour, overtime and testing hourly rate where applicable.

Location: Merseyside Hire Centre, Prescot, Merseyside.

Travel: You will travel to different depots and client sites; a company van will be available. Availability to travel and, on occasion, overnight stays is required.

We are looking for an Electrician to join the Merseyside Hire Centre. As an Electrician you will carry out electrical testing, electrical installation works and amendments to existing circuits, along with the refurbishment and fit‑out of the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards. Responsibilities will also include after‑sales rectification and problem solving work. You must be flexible to travel when required and used to working in a demanding, fast‑paced, controlled environment. Responsibilities
  • Understand and apply the electrical principles and works associated with design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety practices and applicable legislation.
  • Design and install electrical systems incorporating all types of electrical materials, ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.
  • Ensure that all buildings are tested to the required standards, including completion of appropriate documentation and certification where applicable.
  • Assume responsibility as a qualified supervisor and oversee all testing requirements for the Hire Centre.
  • Conduct fault finding and undertake rectifications of existing systems both on and off site.
  • Ensure that reconditioned fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.
  • Maintain workmanship quality in accordance with technical specifications and divisional standards.
  • Support supplementary process‑based tasks where required, which may not be directly electrical related, including installation and terminations of building works.
Essential Criteria
  • Specialist and detailed technical expertise.
  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / Indentures (or AM2) and City & Guilds 2360 or NVQ Level 3 electrical installation, City & Guilds 2380/2381 (IEE Wiring Regs 18th Edition) or JIB Card – Electrician (must include IEE Wiring Regs 18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification.
  • Ideally with previous experience working within the construction industry; however, holding the relevant qualifications and the right learning attitude will be sufficient.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety practices and applicable legislation.
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and customers, delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential for travelling).
