A highly regarded, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Director of Transport Planning to establish and lead its London Transport Planning capability. This is a senior leadership appointment driven by sustained growth within the Development Planning division and represents a key strategic hire for the business.
Reporting into the national Transport Planning leadership, you will take on a highly influential role - setting up and growing a new London-based Transport Planning team, leading major development projects, developing talent, and driving business growth across the capital. You will also work closely with established Transport Planning teams in other UK offices, sharing expertise, resources, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Setting up and leading a new London Transport Planning team
- Technical oversight and delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans
- Strategic leadership of high-profile, multi-sector development projects
- Collaboration with Transport Planning teams in other offices to deliver multi-regional projects
- Mentoring, managing, and developing transport planning professionals
- Supporting business development, work-winning, and client relationship management
About You:
- Strong consultancy background in development-related transport planning
- Proven experience leading complex projects and managing key client relationships
- In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system, ideally with London experience
- Track record of building, mentoring, or managing transport planning teams
- Commercially minded, with confidence in winning and growing work
