BMS Optimisation Engineer

Location: Dartford, Kent, UK – South East

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on BMS and HVAC control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve BMS, controls and HVAC‑related faults.
  • Review existing control strategies and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Modify schedules, setpoints and control parameters to improve building performance and energy efficiency.
  • Capture software backups, point schedules and system data for further analysis and development.
  • Identify energy‑saving, maintenance improvement and decarbonisation opportunities.
  • Deliver small works, repairs and system improvements.
  • Produce detailed service and optimisation reports.
  • Support clients with technical guidance and operational best practices.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and applications teams to develop optimisation solutions.

Desired Experience

  • Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong fault‑finding and service background within controls and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium and/or Cylon.
  • Understanding of control strategies, plant operation and energy efficiency principles.
  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or equivalent desirable).
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
