Multi-trade required to join projects across Somerset, including Bridgwater and the Dorset region, with an office based in Yeovil. Travel up to 1 hour is expected.
The working hours are 07:30-17:00 Monday to Friday. A 12‑week probation period will be on a temporary contract with the offer to go on permanently for the right candidate.
The site is accessible by public transport and parking is available.
Responsibilities
- Second fix tasks, including fitting small kitchens and bathrooms, installing skirting boards, putting locks on doors, and fitting splashbacks.
- Repair various UPVC doors, windows, kitchen repairs/ installations and general maintenance to ensure functionality.
- Work within tenanted social housing properties on general repairs and maintenance.
- Use job tickets or a handheld device on a daily basis linked to a live shared system.
- Manage your own workload effectively and work independently.
- Always deliver outstanding service to customers, with the understanding that you are working in their homes.
- Follow exemplary Health and Safety policies and standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter with second fix skills.
- Mandatory social housing experience.
- Background in Multi‑Trade Joinery; joinery experience essential.
- Basic plumbing, tiling and patch plastering, floor laying, mould and damp treatment is desirable.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Joinery.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full set of tools and PPE.
- References for similar work in a residential setting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- DBS check required.
