THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to join our client based in Stockton-on-Tees.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm of consulting engineers who offer the right candidates interesting projects to work on and good prospects for promotion.

You will be able to work on an interesting range of projects which will include buildings for schools, offices, residential, industrial, hospitals, waste handling and recycling plants and some decarbonisation projects.

You will be responsible for doing structural engineering design and ensuring compliance with industry standards and current UK regulations.

You will report to a Senior or Principal Engineer.

Good support will be given towards becoming chartered.

THE CLIENT

Our client is a successful, growing firm of consulting engineers with a number of UK offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have experience of the following

  • You must have a BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and ideally have an MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering would be useful although not essential.
  • You should have around two years or more post graduate experience gained with a firm of civil / structural consulting engineers.
  • You are likely to either be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to work towards chartered status.
  • You will need good broad based structural engineering design experience to be able to help with the design and assessment of concrete, masonry, steel and also timber structures.
  • You should have used structural engineering software e. g. Tekla Structural Designer or similar.
  • Good experience in the use of Excel and TEDDS and experience of detailing packages e. g. Auto CAD & Revit.
  • You also need to have some experience of doing structural condition surveys and helping with report writing.
  • You must have worked in the UK for another firm of consulting engineers and have excellent knowledge and experience of using UK codes and regulations.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
  • Salary is negotiable and there is an excellent package of company benefits.
