About the Role
Are you a passionate people and resource manager with a background in SAP team management? Do you enjoy guiding teams to success while ensuring everyone enjoys the journey? If so, joining our team as the SAP Team Manager could be for you. As our SAP Team Manager within an SAP environment, you'll manage, support, coach and lead a talented group of SAP technical professionals. You will help steer our technical team towards excellence in SAP technical delivery providing services to our SAP AMS, Software, and Consulting teams. You will be the go-to person for everything from resource management to delivering top-quality software solutions that our customers love, but the role is not just about managing tasks; it’s about nurturing a team culture where collaboration, continuous improvement, and colleague well-being are at the heart of everything we do.
Key responsibilities
- To lead, manage and coach technical teams, shaping a team structure that’s effective, scalable, and creates a positive work environment.
- To lead, input and shape the structure and ways of working for the software team, including career pathing for colleagues.
- Own the resource planning for the software team, ensuring we’ve got the right people on the right projects and tasks, with enough space for skill development—especially in the latest SAP features.
- Ensure collaboration across teams by working closely with various department managers to align resources and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Drive continuous and process improvements, keep the team up-to-date with the latest tech trends, ensuring we’re always ahead of the curve.
- Provide effective stakeholder management, effectively balance priorities and deliver exceptional service from the software team to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Continue to build on the culture where people feel valued and motivated.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams within an SAP environment.
- Strong people management skills—think colleague development, coaching, and creating a positive work culture.
- Experience in resource and workload planning.
- A solid understanding of SAP ABAP and related deliverables.
- A track record in stakeholder management and problem-solving.
Desirable:
- SAP functional knowledge within SAP Supply Chain modules.
- Relevant SAP certifications.
- Project Management, Agile, Scrum or similar certifications.
