Role Summary

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue across The Conduit’s events business by converting enquiries, developing new and existing client relationships, and delivering against agreed budgets and targets. The role combines proactive and reactive sales with strong internal collaboration to ensure seamless event delivery and a consistent sales culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Account Management
    • Respond promptly to inbound event enquiries, qualify leads and convert prospects into confirmed bookings in line with sales targets.
    • Prepare tailored proposals with creative space solutions to meet individual event briefs.
    • Lead professional site visits showcasing venue capabilities.
    • Manage new and existing client accounts, with a strong focus on retention, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
    • Maintain expert knowledge of the venue and event offering to support clients and Event Planners.
    • Ensure all bookings are accurately recorded, contracted, and tracked via the CRM system (Tripleseat).
    • Issue contracts promptly, encourage e-signatures, and ensure signed agreements are returned within 48 hours.
    • Work with senior leadership to ensure deposits and balances are paid in line with contract terms.
    • Conduct post-event follow-up calls to encourage repeat business and generate future leads.
  • CRM & Sales Administration
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Tripleseat to support diary management, reporting, and inter-team communication.
    • Apply consistent enquiry handling processes, including provisional holds and sales SOPs.
    • Complete handover documentation and introduce clients to Event Planners once contracts are signed.
  • Event Planning Support
    • Capture key event details in the CRM pre-confirmation to support smooth planning post-sale.
    • Complete details Event Planning Handovers with key client & event information.
    • Liaise with clients and Event Planners as needed to support the creation of Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs).
    • Meet and greet clients on arrival where appropriate to strengthen relationships and retention.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking
    • Report on individual sales performance against YTD targets.
    • Support the preparation of daily, monthly, and ad-hoc commercial reports.
    • Contribute insights to help identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Business Development
    • Support sales and marketing initiatives to grow revenue.
    • Identify new business opportunities and assist with pitches, presentations, and networking activity.
    • Conduct market and competitor research when required.
    • Represent The Conduit at trade shows, networking events, and familiarisation (FAM) trips.
  • Customer Service & Collaboration
    • Deliver consistently high standards of customer service in line with The Conduit’s values.
    • Build strong relationships across internal teams and with key stakeholders, members, partners, and suppliers.
    • Escalate client complaints appropriately and support timely resolution.
  • Leadership & General Duties
    • Act as an ambassador for The Conduit, upholding its ethos, values, and commitment to sustainability and positive social change.
    • Lead by example and support, mentor, and guide junior team members.
    • Contribute to the efficient day‑to‑day running of the Events office.
    • Adhere to all company policies and actively champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Undertake additional reasonable duties as required to support the business.
