General Maintenance Operative in Rugeley

We are a Business Centre based in Rugeley, Staffordshire and we are looking for a general maintenance operative to join our team on a part time temporary basis. Applicants will need to have previous maintenance experience, excellent DIY skills and a high standard of decorating experience. Applicants must also hold a Full UK Driving License as they will be required to travel locally to our other sites and various residential properties; the successful candidate will have access to a company van.

Job Description & Responsibilities

• General caretaker duties, maintenance, repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating and general ground works
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance on commercial and residential properties including office premises and residential dwellings.
• Repairs and maintenance tasks will vary from bulb changes, repairing broken fittings to basic building and maintenance work.
• General gardening at allocated sites; which will involve routine grounds maintenance such as mowing, strimming, pruning, hedge cutting, weeding etc. (mainly during summer months).
• Painting and decorating and basic plumbing duties.

Job Criteria

• Proven general building repair and maintenance
• Experience and skills in carpentry (e.g. replacing door locks; repairing fence panels)
• General plumbing (e.g. fixing leaking taps)
• General electrical (e.g. replacing light switches)
• General gardening skills
• Painting and decorating
• Proactive in carrying out maintenance
• Essential to have excellent client facing skills
• Must hold a full, clean UK drivers License and be willing to travel locally.
