The aim of our charity is to support people in poverty, deprivation or hardship to build relationships, reduce isolation and develop their self-help skills and social skills as well as building a social/peer group. One way we support people is through our community sessions in our Hub at Coatbridge. Our Hub Members can participate in a range of sessions, including Adults Arts, Adults Digital, Parent and Baby/Toddler, and Youth group. Activities are based on our members' interests, and they are encouraged to let us know what they would be interested in trying the next time they attend the service.
We are currently recruiting for a Community Support Worker to work in our Hub for 16 hours per week. We are looking for people who can provide fun, meaningful activities at all sessions and trips to support young people to have lots of fun! As a Support Worker, you will be a key member of the team, providing:
- High standards of support to our members
- A creative and caring approach
- Opportunities to build strong relationships with our members, their families, and other supporting professionals
- Encouragement and support to enjoy the Hub as much as possible
- Participation in activities, which is a key task for the role, so energy and initiative is vital
- Preparation for sessions, preparing healthy food snacks, cleaning down after sessions
- Good team-working skills to work alongside our team, volunteers, and partners
While experience is great, we are really looking for people with the right values. You should have excellent communication skills and be flexible and empathetic.
Hours: Monday 9.45am – 8.00pm // Tuesday 9.45am – 3.30pm. Additional hours may occasionally be available.
Location(s): Coatbridge Library, Buchanan Centre 10-12pm Monday & Tuesday; Tesco Faraday (Coatbridge) Community Rooms 12pm onwards Monday & Tuesday.
PVG is required (We will submit your application for this if successful). Driving is not essential. Experience of working in a similar caring role and environment is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided.
