Position Summary

We need an English teacher to deliver Functional Skills and GCSE lessons to learners enrolled on other college courses, supporting them to develop confidence and understanding of English, and to apply skills to everyday life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess Functional Skills and GCSE English lessons.
  • Support learners in developing an understanding and love of English, applying principals to their studies.
  • Help learners overcome anxieties about their abilities across various college courses.
  • Work collaboratively with the English team to maintain a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Relevant teaching experience, particularly in Functional Skills and GCSE provision.
  • Good knowledge of the English curriculum and ability to design engaging lessons.
  • Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications; point 12 or above (£37,454 FTE) requires a level 5 teaching qualification and experience.
