Overview
As a Safeguarding and Welfare Advisor at our Downham Market centre, you will create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for learners.
The centre offers small class sizes, personalised support, and a nurturing learning environment that helps young people build confidence, develop skills, and reach their potential.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer, providing safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing support to learners.
- Manage safeguarding concerns and coordinate with the curriculum team and external agencies.
- Develop and deliver tailored support interventions to address personal and educational barriers.
- Ensure learners receive appropriate interventions at the right time.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with safeguarding policies.
Qualifications
- Experience in a safeguarding, welfare, or pastoral support role.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing issues affecting young people, including those with SEND.
- Confidence in working collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
- Ability to provide references and undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and barred list check.
