We are partnering with a well-established and growing business SME, operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting the Head of Finance. This is a hands-on, varied position offering full exposure across management accounts, reporting, and business partnering, with the opportunity to add real value through insight and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts with full analysis and commentary
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Business partner with operational teams to support decision making
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and key balance sheet accounts
- Oversee accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
- Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital reporting
- Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee capital expenditure tracking
- Support year-end audit and liaise with external auditors
- Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis and finance projects as required
What We're Looking For
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Strong background in management accounting within an SME environment
- Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero or similar (desirable)
