Someone hands you a drawing. You decide how it actually gets made, and how it gets made right.
Our client is a fast-growing advanced composites manufacturer supplying aerospace, automotive, defence and space. As their Composites Manufacturing Engineer, you'll take parts and tooling from design through to the shop floor, making sure the risks are understood and the process is written down properly.
You’ll:
- Write step-by-step build instructions covering tooling, equipment, materials, cure cycles and safety
- Create routings and bills of material
- Run PFMEAs and set up inspection plans
- Work with tooling designers on concepts
- Support bids with methodology and costings
- Give procurement technical guidance
- Use production data to make processes faster and better
You’ll need:
- Practical composites manufacturing experience, and a solid understanding of how the materials behave
- Working knowledge of AS9100 in an aerospace setting
- CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks
- Lean thinking and a problem-solving streak
- AFP experience, a composites or manufacturing engineering degree, or Six Sigma are all a bonus.
This is a chance to shape how a scaling business builds, not follow someone else's manual.
