Maintenance Manager. Monday – Friday Days. Up to £50,000 + Benefits. Cambridgeshire.
Looking to step into a senior leadership role and finally get off shifts? Here we go… This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong engineer with leadership experience to take that next step into a Maintenance Manager position on a well-established food manufacturing site.
You’ll be leading a close-knit, experienced engineering team while playing a key role in driving site performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
This role is predominantly off the tools, giving you the chance to focus on leadership, strategy, and improvements – but with the expectation to roll your sleeves up and support the team during major breakdowns when needed. You’ll be part of the senior team on site, influencing decisions, managing budgets, and helping shape the future of engineering performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a multi-skilled engineering team
- Delegate workload and provide clear structure and direction
- Drive engagement, performance, and team morale
- Ensure all production and site equipment runs efficiently
- Implement and improve PPM, condition monitoring, and maintenance strategies
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across site
- Oversee contractors, procurement, and compliance requirements
- Deliver capital projects and support longer-term site development plans
- Work closely with operations to maximise uptime and performance
What We’re Looking For
- A solid engineering background within manufacturing (FMCG / food preferred)
- Previous leadership experience (Team Leader / Supervisor / Manager)
- Strong man-management and team development skills
- Experience improving machinery performance and site efficiencies
- Knowledge of HSE and engineering standards
- Experience with maintenance systems (SAP advantageous but not essential)
- A proactive, hands-on leader with a continuous improvement mindset
