Some Project Managers manage spreadsheets. Others actually deliver projects. This is the second type.

I'm recruiting for a Engineering Project Manager to join a busy food manufacturing site, taking ownership of capital projects from initial specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.

You'll manage budgets, contractors, suppliers and timelines - making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with zero harm.

The role

  • Deliver the site's capital investment programme.
  • Manage projects from specification and tender through to commissioning.
  • Control contractors, suppliers, budgets and project timelines.
  • Produce specifications, layouts and project justifications.
  • Drive engineering improvements, efficiency and innovation.
  • Ensure projects meet CDM, planning, safety and other regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Technical, HSE, Hygiene and NPD teams.
  • Support the wider engineering team with non-capital projects.

What you'll need

  • Level 5 engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong project management experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers and project budgets.
  • AutoCAD and CDM experience.
  • Good understanding of food manufacturing engineering and factory services.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • FMCG experience is a must for this one.

If you're an engineer who likes seeing projects actually get built - rather than just talking about them - this could be a good one
