We're working with a food manufacturing business who is experiencing massive growth. They need a Health & Safety Manager who's as comfortable on the shop floor as they are in the boardroom, someone who spots risk before it happens and gets people to own safety rather than just follow it.

What you'll own:

  • H&S strategy, compliance, culture, and performance across the whole site
  • Full compliance with BRC, ISO, and COP standards
  • A proactive safety culture, built through visible leadership and real engagement
  • The crisis management framework, kept current and genuinely workable
  • Risk assessments, PUWER requirements, and new equipment sign-off
  • Contractor management, emergency preparedness, and out-of-hours escalation

What it takes:

  • NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with ISO 45001 and audit standards - BRC/ISO Lead Auditor is a strong plus
  • A track record of building real H&S culture in manufacturing (food experience highly advantageous)
  • Familiar with a Food manufacturing environment
  • Confidence influencing people at every level, from the shop floor to senior leadership
  • A calm, pragmatic head when things get pressured

Success looks like:

  • Zero major non-conformities
  • Strong audit performance
  • Falling accident rates
  • A workforce that owns safety rather than just complies with it

Not about ticking boxes - about building a culture where safety is second nature and the impact actually gets noticed.
