What We’re Looking For

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) or proven track record in senior financial leadership.
  • Experience within the charity sector is essential, with strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in SMEs or medium-to-large organisations, with excellent operational and strategic knowledge.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and confidence with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • A collaborative, hands‐on leader who can inspire and build effective teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly to non‐financial audiences.
  • A visible passion for health, wellbeing, and charitable work, with a commitment to volunteer 6–10 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Financial Strategy – Develop and own CHC's finance and funding strategy, ensuring sustainability, transparency, and alignment with our mission.
  • Build and Mentor a Finance Team – Establish and guide the Finance & Funding Team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and high standards.
  • Oversee Financial Operations – Ensure timely and accurate reporting, budget management, forecasting, and compliance with charity accounting standards.
  • Ensure Governance and Compliance – Manage statutory reporting, Charity Commission returns, and annual audits, ensuring adherence to legal, ethical, and financial regulations.
  • Support Project Success – Work closely with project leaders for Collaboration for Kids (CFK) and Food Addiction Solutions (FAS), providing financial insight and policies that enable their goals.
  • Champion Quality and Standards – Uphold best practice in financial reporting, risk management, and funding initiatives, safeguarding CHC's reputation and impact.
