The Collaborative Health Community is seeking a volunteer to oversee all legal strategy, compliance, and contracts for The CHC and its projects, building and leading a legal team, and safeguarding governance, risk, and brand reputation, 6–10 hours per week.
This role will ensure The CHC operates safely and credibly within UK law, protecting beneficiaries, volunteers, and trustees. By creating robust policies, contracts, and governance, the Head of Legal will reduce risk, strengthen brand reputation, and enable sustainable growth of the charity’s projects.
What are we looking for?
- The volunteer should be a UK-qualified lawyer with experience practising law and operating at a senior/strategic level in a legal role.
- Strong leadership, clear communication, sound judgment, problem-solving, and risk-management skills.
- Experience of drafting policies and contracts and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
- Passion for public health, children’s wellbeing, and charitable work is essential.
What will you be doing?
- Provide legal leadership for The CHC, ensuring all activities, policies, contracts, and projects comply with UK law and support sustainable growth.
- Lead and build a small legal team, set strategy and SMART goals, advise the leadership team.
- Manage legal risk, draft and maintain policies, contracts, and processes.
- Attend regular online meetings with project leaders.
