Regional Relief Trainee Pharmacy Assistant – Permanent Contract

We are looking to recruit a 40‑hour Regional Relief Trainee Pharmacy Assistant on a permanent contract to work across all branches in region 16, covering Yarm, Middlesbrough, Boldon Colliery, Sunderland and Whitley Bay. You must have business insurance for your vehicle and a full driving licence, as you will be required to travel regularly.

Usual working hours can range between 09:00‑17:00 or 09:00‑18:00.

Key duties include:

• Accurately dispensing and labelling prescription items under the guidance and supervision of the pharmacist.
• Assisting with ordering and management of stock levels in the dispensary and shop.
• Maintaining the utmost attention to detail, working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Providing excellent customer service and working as part of a well‑established team.

You will gain excellent knowledge and skills that will contribute to successfully achieving the recognised Counter Course and NVQ level 2 qualification in Dispensing. This position is ideally suited to someone with prior customer‑service experience who is willing to undertake the relevant training courses to progress.

Travel and mileage reimbursement:

• Fuel receipts must be obtained for each petrol‑station visit and the mileage claim submitted weekly.
• Reimbursement for mileage undertaken on business journeys will be at a rate of 40 p per mile up to 10 000 miles, after which 25 p per mile will be reimbursed according to HMRC guidelines.
