We are looking to recruit a Zero Hour Prescription Delivery Driver at our 479 branch, located at 1A Belgrave Crescent, Scarborough, YO11 1UB. Branch opening hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 13:00. The role requires flexibility within these times, strong people skills, and a commitment to providing a professional service to both customers and Pharmacy Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prescription items promptly and conscientiously to private houses, nursing and residential homes.
- Represent a friendly, professional image and act as an ambassador for the Cohens brand.
- Work under pressure to deliver prescriptions within designated periods.
- Ensure prescriptions are delivered in compliance with company regulated procedures.
- Plan and print daily routes using basic computer skills.
- Assist with PR exercises to increase business (as needed).
Requirements
- Great people skills and customer focus.
- Flexible to work within branch opening hours.
- Basic computer skills for route planning.
- Own vehicle suitable for business use, with personal insurance covering business use; candidate must provide evidence of increased premium if applicable.
- Acceptance of DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
- Willingness to obtain and keep business insurance documentation.
Remuneration & Travel
Zero‑hour contract with mileage reimbursement at 42p per mile up to 10,000 miles, and 25p per mile thereafter, in accordance with HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts required for each visit; mileage claims submitted weekly.
